A small family apiary in Kingaroy, Queensland. Every hive managed by hand, every jar filled with care.
Our apiaries are based around Kingaroy in Queensland's South Burnett, a region known for its rich farming country, native bushland, and long flowering seasons. By placing hives across a number of local sites, we give our bees access to a changing mix of blossoms through the year.
As a small family apiary, we manage every hive ourselves and put colony health first. We only ever harvest surplus honey, leaving plenty in the hive for the bees. Supporting Stickyland means supporting local beekeeping and the pollinators our farms, gardens, and bushland all depend on.
Our bees forage freely across native bushland and farmland, from eucalypt forests and ironbark country to backyard gardens in town.
We keep European honey bees (Apis mellifera), the species used in Australian beekeeping. A strong colony can hold tens of thousands of bees, often up to around 60,000 at peak season.
We select from hygienic breeding lines and pay close attention to traits linked to mite resilience. The aim is simple: healthier colonies that cope better and need less intervention over time.
Pure raw honey and small-batch infusions, straight from the hives of South Burnett.
